Membership
AMSE is considered by state and federal DOTs to be the voice of the steel-reinforced
MSE industry. These agencies prefer to work through established industry trade
associations to avoid possible bias when dealing with individual MSE suppliers
(except on specific construction contracts). By presenting its members' views and
concerns to the DOTs, AMSE gives its members input to the standards- and specification-setting
process of these agencies. AMSE also interacts regularly with AASHTO technical committees, so
members have a voice in the work of those committees as well.
AMSE represents North American suppliers of MSE structures constructed with steel
reinforcements. Through the cooperative efforts of its members, AMSE serves the MSE
industry and the users and specifiers of MSE technology, contributing to the improvement
of Mechanically Stabilized Earth materials, processes and practices.
